Contents of your Novice Trace Pack
- Minimum duration of 2 hours
All season - You will discoverBois de la Matte (possible to come back via Serpentine green slope), Bas de l’Almet via les Bouts, Col de Chatillon from Rosay, Col des Annes from La Duche
- Elevation200 m
- Be relaxESF provides you with the safety kit : backpack, beacon, shovel, probe
- You need to bringYour pair of ski touring or splitboard, your skins, a helmet (obligatory!), a bottle of water, a small snack
- Prepare your outing Analysis of the mountain environment and slope exposures, temperature variations, reading of the BERA (Avalanche Risk Assessment Bulletin) and discovery of safety equipment
- On the spotFirst steps uphill and changing direction techniques ("conversion")
- In case of alertKnow how to warn the emergency services, avalanche transceiver double check and how to read GPS positions

- Prepare your outingHow to choose your route, test the snow, find your way and assess the risk of avalanche
- On the spotLearn to manage effort and pace, adapt turns and conversions
- In case of alertManage the accident and its equipment, assist the emergency services
